Jeremy Winchester is an artist and educator focused on leveraging the power of the performing arts for equity and social change. His work as a designer, director, and producer focuses on the global majority and historically minoritized communities, and he brings this mission to his output in contemporary theatre and dance, theatre for young audiences, musicals and interdisciplinary projects alike.

Winchester is an Associate Professor of Theatre at the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, where he is also Director of MOSAIC, the college’s public-facing program for open arts and intersectional culture. In this dual position as both faculty and arts producer, Winchester’s work seeks to bring people together through the acts of artistic and cultural exchange in order to learn about each other, break through barriers to understanding, and build the commonalities that define community.

Prior to his current position at MCLA, Winchester served as the Executive Artistic Director of Flint Youth Theatre (now Flint Rep), a year-round professional theatre for youth and family audiences in Flint, MI. In that position, Winchester took a particular interest in presenting both children's theatre mainstays and classic works from the larger theater canon for audiences of all ages. Winchester is also committed to creating new work, and dedicated one slot per year in FYT’s season to new-play production.

Winchester is also an affiliated artist with Pacific Performance Project/east, with whom he has designed lights for multiple world premieres. He served on the Board of Directors Theatre for Young Audiences/USA from 2016 to 2022.
